What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is the fastest growing natural health care profession in the world. It was discovered in 1895 in Davenport, Iowa. Doctors of Chiropractic (D.C’s) specialize in locating and correcting a serious condition known as a Vertebral Subluxation. A subluxation is a misalignment of one or more of the twenty-four movable bones of the spine.

What causes subluxations?

Subluxations are commonly caused by stresses and impacts to your body from poor posture, poor sleeping habits, slips and falls, vehicular accidents, sports impacts, strenuous exercise, work injuries, and the birth process. Subluxations can cause dangerous stress to your spinal cord and delicate spinal nerves as they exit the spine between the spinal bones. This causes irritation to the nerves and affects your body’s ability to heal. Nerve interference can cause increased susceptibility to disease and disorder in the body, resulting in poor health. Unfortunately, subluxations are often painless and can go undetected for years.

How does chiropractic care help you?

When working optimally, our bodies have the ability to heal, repair and regulate themselves. It is your nervous system which coordinates and controls your body’s functions. When the spine becomes subluxated (misaligned), from a slip or fall, car accident, etc., it affects your body’s nerves as they exit the spine. Over time, this can have a dramatic effect on your body’s ability to function properly on the inside and how you feel on the outside.

How long do I need chiropractic care?

Every person who comes into our practice is unique and is given a unique protocol with time frames ranging between six months to two years. Many individuals choose to continue with wellness care in our office after they have seen the benefits of their initial care. If you have specific questions, please inform our team.

How much will my care cost?

Based on the practice member’s care plan decided between the doctors, they will outline different options for allowing care to be affordable for everyone.

Does insurance cover my care?

Some insurance will contribute towards chiropractic care, and our team will verify if there is any insurance contribution and the doctor will go over with the practice member when deciding on a specific plan.

If I don’t have any pain, should I still see a chiropractor?

Only ten percent of our body’s nerves can actually sense pain. Chiropractors work with the other ninety percent of the body’s nerves that work with this function in the body. It is very common for practice members to not have pain and receive positive, functional improvements with chiropractic care.

Why should expectant mothers and children receive chiropractic care?

Pregnant women get chiropractic care to help optimize pelvic function to help improve pregnancy and labor outcomes. Children see chiropractors for an array of conditions including colic, improving sleep, ADHD, ear infections, bedwetting, autism, and everyday wellness.

We are an ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) certified practice
